    Recommended Strategy - Boost

The Boost% column will show applicable percent improvement in admission rate for early vs regular applicants. We'll list applicable boosts by school in the "Recommended Strategy" section of the Early Strategy tab. Keep in mind that your mileage will vary based on how competitive an applicant you are and the extent to which a school uses early admission to admit hooked applicants.

If the application does not suggest applying early, the Boost% value will be empty.

If the application recommends applying early, but no early admit rates are available, the Boost% column will say "Not Reported".

If the application recommends applying early, and the early admit rate is not significantly worse than the regular admit rate, the Boost% column will say "No Major Change".

If an institution offers an early admission plan and reported the early admit rate, but the early admit rate was meaningfully worse, the application will not recommend to apply early.

NOTE: Remember to try hovering your mouse cursor over the admission plan or Boost% values in case there's more details.

    Battery

    When you’ll see it

A battery should appear in the Boost% column if the institution offers an early admission plan (ED/EA/REA), and the reported early admit rate is equal or higher than the regular admit rate.

    What each color means

    • Green - The battery will appear green if the application is comparing the national early rate to the national regular rate.

(For High Schools Only) - The battery will also appear green if the application is comparing your local early rate to the local regular rate. This will also depend on what you have published in Local Context and if you have enough data for early admit rates.

    • Red - Assuming "No Regrets" was enabled for your high school or practice, you may also see a red battery. This batter appears under the same conditions as green and if the school is classified as unlikely.

    • Gray (For High Schools Only) - The gray battery will appear when comparing the local regular rate to a national early rate. When publishing a school profile in Local Context for a school, you may not have enough early outcomes to save early admit rates. If a national early rate is available, then the application will calculate a boost based on your local rate and the national early rate.
